Leif Prenzlau's work in interiors grew out of friendship. Spending time with furniture designers, ceramicists and makers — people building considered objects and spaces — he found himself drawn to photographing not just the things they made, but the spaces they belong to. It felt like a natural progression from his background in fashion photography: the same attention to light, to atmosphere, to the feeling an image can hold.

What guides his approach is a deep respect for the designer's intention. Rather than reshaping a space for the camera, he looks for what's already there — the quality of light, the mood, the particular stillness a well-considered room can have — and works to preserve it.

Leif grew up in Bondi and is now based in Northern Rivers. He spends time in Sydney each month and is available to work anywhere in Australia.
